Wittner Shoes

Alongside my role as a style consultant for Wittner Shoes, I have been a guest stylist and writer for the company’s forum for fives months and counting. Combining engaging visual imagery with informative styling tips that incorporate the latest Wittner products, the posts have focused on topics such as how to wear sneakers no matter your age, the 9-5 wardrobe, and how to embrace pops of bright colours for summer.

The 9-5 Wardrobe

Wittner has an amazing range of workwear shoes that customers love to buy for their 9 to 5 wardrobe. So I decided for my first post to focus on how to put together a corporate wardrobe for each body shape. An understanding of body shapes can help guide our customers on how to highlight their best features!

Look 1 & 2: The Hourglass Shape (curvy, small waist)

When it comes to the hourglass shape the directive is to highlight curves & emphasise the waist. A shirring detail (Saba top) will cinch in the middle and show off your waist. A wide-leg pant with a belted waist, such as culottes, is the way to flatter your figure (Look 1). Another option is to pair with a pencil skirt to smooth out thighs and accentuate curves (Look 2). Finish off the look with the stylish Haldwin Pump and silver jewellery.

  • Saba ‘Winter Garden Top’ $129
  • Sportscraft ‘Signature Hunter Culotte’ $65.40
  • Witchery ‘Centre Front Split Aline Skirt’ $149.95
  • Witchery ‘Brushed Stack Earrings’ $29.95

Look 3: The Apple Shape (slim lower body, carry weight around middle)

The item to add into high rotation for the apple shape is a high-waisted circle skirt. This skirt shape will hit at the smallest part of the torso and flare out the stomach. Pair it with a blouse that features a subtle print and style it with the Garla Pump.

  • Trenery ‘Linen Spot Shirt’ $149.00
  • REISS ‘Bevan-Full Circle Skirt’ $145.00 (from David Jones)
  • Trenery ‘Wood Acetate Boston Earrings’ $29.95

Look 4: The Pear Shape (hip the widest part)

Bold tops (think embellishment, prints, and ruffles!) and dark-coloured pants with an added kick of flare are the key elements for this shape. The flared style will move attention away from your hips and a statement shirt will accentuate your top half. Complete the look with the Woodley Pump – the pointy-toe will elongate legs.

  • Witchery ‘Printed Floral Blouse’ $119.95
  • Country Road ‘Clean Belt’ $59.95
  • Witchery ‘Downtown Ruffle Shirt’ $99.95
  • Country Road ‘Kick Flare Ponte Pant’ $99.95
  • Portmans ‘Geo Circle Drop Earrings’ $16.95

Look 5 & 6: The Rectangle Shape (waist, hips and shoulders are similar in proportion)

The goal is to show off slim legs and arms as well as create curves. You can have fun with printed trousers to highlight slim legs to pair with either the Crosby or Heaton Loafer. Alternatively, a fit-and-flare dress to style with a belt will help create a waist – style it with the Haldwin Quilted Pump.

  • Witchery ‘Downtown Ruffle Shirt’ $99.95
  • French Connection ‘Geo Capri Pant’ $89.95
  • Country Road ‘Bird Print Shirt’ $99.95
  • Witchery ‘Check Pant’ $159.95
  • Witchery ‘Ponte Swing Dress’ $129.95
  • Seed Heritage ‘Tanya Ring Belt’ $59.95

Pop of Colour

With a return to ‘80s inspired shades of hot pink and ultra marine blue in the latest Wittner collection, below is a guide of how to brighten up our wardrobes for a stylish summer.

Embrace the spirit of colour in denim, crisp separates, floaty florals and bold accessories. Opt to pair denim with crisp shirts, whether in a fresh white or light blue (Look 4), to allow the hot pink to stand out. For a casual vibe, upgrade the basic white tee with a graphics or bold imagery (Look 6) – the first outfit is a look Zoe Foster Blake wore and it was too good to not show! If you want to dial-up the colour, red florals and hot pink are a perfect match – with it’s flattering silhouette, a ‘40s style tea-dress (Look 5) is an easy staple for the warmer weather. Add some statement earrings and straw accessories as the finishing touch.

Look 1: Chinta (Hot Pink)

  • Country Road ‘Ruffle Back T-Shirt’ $179
  • Zimmermann ‘Tulsi Midi Skirt’ $350

  • Witchery ‘Mila Jean’ $99.95
  • Skin and Threads ‘Eagle Valley Tee’ $89
  • Viktoria & Woods ‘Clash Jean’ $290

While denim goes well with hot pink, for ultramarine blue it’s all about gingham – just add black accessories to keep it pared back (Look 7). Otherwise if you’re not afraid to add a little personality, opt for bold prints in a statement midi dress (Look 9) or you can take baby steps with a geometric-print skirt – just pair with a slimline tee for the perfect balancing act (Look 10). Spring into summer by teaming the espadrille style with straw accessories to keep it fresh and light – a straw hat will add detail yet keep it simple enough to work with your faithful white dress (Look 11).
